If you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, we’re pretty sure we’ve got a good idea about what you’ll be doing on Monday night.
The final game on the slate for the 13th week of the 2018 NFL season will be the game Philadelphia Eagles fans care the most about. Their ‘Birds’ have a date with their NFC East rivals, the Washington Redskins.
This one’s loaded with story lines. Here are five:
1. Philly hasn’t won two straight games all season.
This one’s a bit surprising for a team that we thought may have had a chance of throwing a monkey wrench in the New England Patriots‘ dynasty. Philly only lost two games that they actually tried to win in 2017.
2018’s been a different story. If they win on Monday Night Football, it will be their first two-game winning streak of the season.

2. Both teams need to keep pace with Dallas now.
Now, this is a must-win game for both the ‘Skins and ‘Birds’.
3. The old guy faces the new kid on the block (maybe).
In Washington, Adrian Peterson is making his case for the NFL’s ‘Comeback Player of the Year’ award. We thought the running back duel in this one would feature both he and Philly’s outstanding rookie, Josh Adams. Now, the latter is questionable.
Now, we could just see a duel between two old guys. Darren Sproles is finally back for Philly, and if Adams doesn’t play and the Eagles struggle, we can all expect Philly to give him an immediate increase in his workload.
4. The Eagles are running out of bodies, but that line is getting healthy.
The Eagles are this close to being forced to throw some shoulder pads on a few cheerleaders. Thankfully, as the ‘War of Attrition’ continues, that offensive line is getting healthy.
5. No one’s really scared about playing in ‘The Linc’ or are they?
More from Inside the Iggles
We keep hearing about the Eagles and their success at the ‘Linc’, but are we sure, with all of the injuries, about whether or not it matters whether this one is played at FedExField or Lincoln Financial Field?
Who are we kidding? Of course it matters. ‘The Birds’ are just different when their fans are rowdy. Expect another raucous home crowd on Monday.
Bonus: Can the Eagles ‘D’ force some extra possessions?
You can’t sweep a team unless you win that first game. The Eagles learned that a season ago as an opening day win snapped a five-game losing streak to Washington.
Turnovers played a huge role in a 30-17 win. Unfortunately, Philly isn’t creating the turnovers in 2018. They have eight takeaways in their first 11 games, and if a playoff push is in the cards, they may need another sweep of the Redskins and for their defense to create extra opportunities with so many talented teams left on the schedule.
