DraftKings Sportsbook is now offering a new way to get in on the action with the introduction of DraftKings Sportsbook Pools. The new feature, which is now live on the DraftKings Sportsbook app, allows users to pick the outcomes of a set group of sporting events in a pool-style format to win cash payouts based on finish. In simpler terms, it’s like a merger between daily fantasy formats and the old school office pool which will give players the opportunity to score big payouts. From the DraftKings Sportsbook Pools press release:
Players select from provided responses and submit their entry into a pool where inners are then determined based on the number of correct picks as the real-life events unfold. The inaugural DraftKings Sportsbooks Pools contest will feature a $20 entry with a minimum of $200,000 in total prizes, including a $100,000 jackpot to be shared among all players who select all Sunday and Monday NFL Week 10 games correctly. For the opening contest, players in New Jersey will receive 20 percent of the prize pool for 10 correct picks, 30 percent for 11 correct picks and 50 percent for making all 12 picks correctly.
Seems simple enough. I decided to hop on the app and see for myself how the new pool game works, so I’ll share that with you here:
At the home screen, you’ll see a “Pools” heading with a link to this week’s NFL Pick’em contest.
Users will then be asked to select the outright winner (no point spreads) of each NFL Week 10 contest.
Seems simple enough. Users that can’t decide on the outcome of a specific game can use the “Both” option to create up to the 32 separate entries for the Week 10 contest. As of Thursday morning, it appears this is the lone contest for this upcoming week, but expect additional pick ’em and ATS contests to eventually roll out beyond this week.

Oh yeah, one other thing. The app is now viewable from anywhere, so those outside of New Jersey that are looking to get a feel for DraftKings’ offerings can now sign in and check it out. Of course, only those within the state’s lines will be able to place wagers. For now.
