A nice thing about Aaron Nola starts is that they are followed by a Jake Arrieta start.
Arrieta’s coming off eight great innings off against the Diamondbacks, a game in which the bullpen blew the win in the 14th inning. Getting a start that is at the very least a less gut-punching win and at the very most an actual win would be an improvement, but what else is Arrieta supposed to do? Pitch even longer than eight innings so that the bullpen doesn’t become a factor? Yes. Please do that, if you like it.
