It was plenty for Phillies ace Aaron Nola, who allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings. The right-hander allowed four hits and struck out 10, as the Phillies won consecutive games for the first time since a three-game winning streak May 13-17.

But the lead almost was not enough for the Phillies’ bullpen. Luis Garcia allowed four consecutive hits to start the ninth inning to cut Philadelphia’s lead to three. Seranthony Dominguez then entered the game with the bases loaded and no outs and allowed two runs to score, but the hard-throwing right-hander struck out Nolan Arenado swinging to end the game.
