Draft Kings Appears Ready, Willing and Able To Accept Bets

Me, on April 2, 2015:

Not just posting this because we work with Draft Kings – use our link! – but because, I’m telling you, when online sports gambling becomes legalized in the US, which it will, and someone asks, “But who will handle all the transactions?!” it will be Draft Kings and FanDuel who step forward and raise their hands and point out that they already have millions of credit cards securely on file. We can do it. Cha-fucking-ching.

Me, on December 7, 2017:

Perhaps a white-label solution where you place a bet in an app branded with an NBA logo. And my guess is the daily fantasy companies will come forward and raise their hands, noting that they have hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of credit cards on file and can handle that sort of thing securely.

DraftKings, today:

“We have a huge customer base and brand, which is very much thought of as a brand people think about when they think about winning money on sporting events.”

Also DraftKings today:

“DraftKings is uniquely positioned to succeed in this dynamic, new market. We are the world’s largest daily fantasy sports platform with almost 10 million users. As an American company, we have a unique, authentic understanding of American sports fans, and already have strong relationships with professional leagues and teams.”

Side note: I remember a time – like, yesterday – when DraftKings didn’t wanted to be mentioned on the same website as “gambling.” Today, their CEO was on CNBC talking about it. My how times change.

Side note 2: We’ve been longtime partners of DraftKings and we’re continuing to work with them. This post is not sponsored, but you can bet your sweet ass future ones will be. -300 is the early number.
