Sixers-Pacers Post-Game Thread

The Sixers fall for the first time this year in Philadelphia, 101-98.

The Sixers lost 101-98 to the Indiana Pacers tonight, ending the Sixers’ 13-game winning streak in Philadelphia. After an abysmal first quarter, the Sixers slowly fought back but weren’t able to make the shots that mattered down the stretch. Even when the Sixers tied the game at 71 points in the third quarter, it still felt like the Pacers were in control. The Sixers could have overcome some late-game streaky shooting but the nail in the coffin was the 21 turnovers, including eight from Joel Embiid.

Despite the turnovers, Embiid had a strong offensive night, scoring 29 points and shooting 50% from the field. He was not so lucky from beyond the arc, missing all five of his shots. Ben Simmons had his seventh triple-double of the season, with a line of 10-13-10. J.J. Redick shot 80% from deep and had sixteen points on the night.

BOX SCORE

The Sixers were able to prevent Victor Oladipo from his normal offensive explosions, as he scored only 11 points in comparison to the almost 24 points he is averaging. They were not as successful at containing Myles Turner, who had 25 points and shot 75% from the floor.

Next, the Sixers will take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. I’m looking forward to watching noted Knicks-killer T.J. McConnell do his thing.
